Is it possible to reuse common Desktop Design Patterns in VR? A user study.

In a user study we explored the portability of common desktop patterns into VR. Therefore we conducted a user study. The user had to play the VR game Aira and we analysed his behaviour.

Aira uses a lot of Desktop Design Patterns, for example the common Pointer Pattern and the exocentric manipulation of the 3D world by classical menus.
